The short answer

A link in bio only gets clicks when people know it exists and have a reason to tap it. Put the link first in your bio and say what's behind it, point to it with a specific reason in every Story and post that mentions something on the page, add it everywhere else you show up (other profiles, email, QR codes, Google), and check which links get tapped so the winners move to the top.

It's a common experience: you build a nice link in bio page, put it in your profile, and a month later it has a handful of visits. The page isn't the problem. Most of the people who see your content never open your profile, and the ones who do aren't told why they should tap. Here are free ways to fix both, then how to tell which one you need.

  • People watch posts, not profiles. Reels and feed posts are seen by people scrolling past. Only a small share of them tap through to your profile, and only some of those notice the link.
  • "Link in bio" doesn't say anything. Without a reason ("the full recipe", "20% off until Sunday", "book a slot"), there's nothing to click for.
  • The link isn't where people look. If it's your second or third link on Instagram, it's hidden behind a tap.

So the fix has two parts: send more people toward the link, and give them a reason when they get there.

End your bio with what the visitor gets, not just an arrow: "Free 7-day meal plan ↓", "New prints every Friday ↓", "Book a fitting ↓". Change it when the offer changes.

Instagram allows up to five links but shows only the first one in the bio. If you use a link in bio page, make it link number one, so the others don't compete with it.

3. Use a link sticker in every relevant Story

Stories are the one place where any account can attach a clickable link to a single piece of content. Every Story that mentions something on your page should carry a link sticker pointing straight to it. Stories with a clear call ("Tap the link for the recipe") get far more taps than a sticker alone.

4. Say why in Reels and captions

Links in captions aren't clickable, so tell people what's behind the bio link and where to find it: "The full checklist is in my bio, it's the first link." Name the specific thing; "link in bio" alone is easy to ignore.

5. Pin a post or a comment that points to the link

You can pin up to three posts to the top of your grid and pin comments under any post. Pin your best offer, and pin a comment under popular posts that says where to get the thing everyone's asking about.

The same link belongs on TikTok, YouTube (in your channel links), Facebook, Threads, X, Pinterest and LinkedIn. Each has its own place for it, usually a website or links field in the profile. TikTok shows a bio link only to business accounts and personal accounts above a follower threshold, so check your account type if the field is missing.

7. Use it in DMs and replies

When someone asks "how much?" or "where can I buy?", reply with the link. Save it as a quick reply so it's one tap. People who asked are the most likely to click.

8. Put a QR code on everything physical

Packaging, business cards, flyers, menus, shop windows, the counter by the till. A QR code turns offline attention into a page visit. mssg.me creates a QR code for every site; for any other page, any QR generator works. Add one line under the code that says what scanning gives you.

9. Add it to your email signature and newsletter

Every email you send is a chance for a click, especially replies to customers. Put the link in your signature with a short label ("Order online · WhatsApp · Prices").

10. Add it to your Google Business Profile

If you're a local business, put your page in the website field of your Google Business Profile. People who find you on Google Maps then land on the page with your prices, products and messenger buttons, already updated.

11. Make the page worth the tap, and findable

Clicks dry up if the page disappoints. Keep the first block for whatever you mention most, use clear button labels ("Order on WhatsApp", not "Click here"), keep it fast and short, and update it when your offer changes.

Your page can also bring visitors from search on its own. Give it a clear title and description: on Stick, each page has its own SEO settings (title, description and link preview image), and mssg.me's paid plans include SEO tools.

You can't improve what you don't measure, and two numbers tell you most of what you need:

  • Profile visits and external link taps in Instagram Insights (available on professional accounts).
  • Views of your page and clicks on each link in your link in bio tool. Stick shows views, clicks and which links people tap on its free plan; mssg.me's paid plans add views and clicks analytics plus Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel and TikTok Pixel.

For other channels, add UTM tags to the link you share (for example ?utm_source=newsletter) so you can tell an email click from an Instagram one.

คำถามที่พบบ่อย

Why is nobody clicking my link in bio?

Usually because people never see it or don't know what's behind it. Most viewers watch your posts without opening your profile, so mention the link with a specific reason in posts and Stories, and say in the bio what visitors will get.

Can you put a clickable link in an Instagram caption?

No. Links in Instagram captions aren't clickable, which is why creators point people to the link in bio or add a link sticker to a Story.

How do I see how many people click my Instagram link?

Professional accounts see external link taps in Instagram Insights. Link in bio tools show the next step: Stick shows views and clicks per link on its free plan, and mssg.me includes views and clicks analytics on paid plans.

Should I use Instagram's five bio links or a link in bio page?

Five native links are enough if you have only a few destinations. A link in bio page lets you show more, add context and prices, sell, and see which links get tapped.
