The short answer

Carrd builds a real one-page website: free on a carrd.co address, or from $19 a year with your own domain, forms and embeds. Linktree is a list of links: free for basics, $8 to $35 a month for paid plans, and no own-domain option on any plan. Choose Carrd if you want layout freedom and your own domain for very little money; choose Linktree if you want the quickest possible link page with built-in analytics and selling on Pro.

Linktree and Carrd both end up in Instagram and TikTok bios, but they're different kinds of tools. Linktree gives you a list of links with themes; Carrd gives you a blank one-page site you design yourself. Prices below were checked on October 9, 2026.

Price: Carrd is hard to beat

Carrd's plans are priced per year. Pro Standard, at $19 a year, gets you 10 sites, your own domain, forms, embeds and analytics, which is less than Linktree's Starter plan costs for three months. Carrd also offers a 7-day Pro trial without a card.

Linktree's free plan is generous for links, but removing the logo and selling start at Pro: $15 a month, or $144 a year billed yearly.

Your own domain: only Carrd

If you want yourname.com instead of a platform address, Carrd supports it from Pro Standard. Linktree doesn't offer custom domains on any plan; the most you can do is change your username or forward a domain you own to your linktr.ee page, which still shows the Linktree address.

Building the page

Linktree is quicker: add links, pick a theme, done. That's its strength if you update links often from your phone.

Carrd takes longer the first time, because you're designing a page rather than filling one: sections, columns, buttons, images and video, from templates or from scratch. The result can look like a proper website, which suits portfolios, launches and small businesses.

Selling

Linktree's Pro and Premium plans let you sell products with 0% Linktree fees (plus a $0.25 payout fee). Carrd doesn't have a built-in store: you take payments with payment-enabled forms or by embedding Stripe, PayPal or Gumroad buttons, and you handle delivery of digital products yourself or through the embedded service.

Which should you pick?

  • Choose Carrd for your own domain, a page that looks like a website, and the lowest price.
  • Choose Linktree for the fastest setup, a familiar format and built-in analytics and selling.
  • Choose something else if you want design freedom and built-in selling without paying anything.

A free alternative to both: Stick

Stick, made by our team, sits between the two: a link in bio page you can style block by block (15 block types, 20 themes, per-block colors, corners and spacing), with a Digital Product block that sells files through Stripe and takes 0%. It's free, including analytics for every link.

What it doesn't have yet: your own domain (Carrd wins there), removing the Stick badge, or more than one page per site, and the editor is in English only.
